ABOUT

I thrive off the energy of other people,

so it’s no surprise that I choose to make my living by making other people feel better. My family and friends describe me as very energetic and positive. I have them to thank from being a part of my life. Here are a few breadcrumbs that will help give you a better idea of who I am:

› When I was 11, I traveled around the world with my family for 14 months to 31 countries

› I’ve hitchhiked about 20,000 miles over 10 countries

› I love Sudoku, crossing puzzles and playing cards

› For 10 years I owned and managed the health club “Bodyworks” in San Diego

› I competed in the American Ninja Warrior southwest regionals

› I live in Hermosa Beach, CA and I’m married with 3 children

I’ve been an athlete almost all my life.

My interests have shifted through the years, giving me a chance to experience lots of different sports and training. Here’s a brief snapshot:

› As a skinny little kid in sixth grade, I set the school record for doing 40 pull-ups.

› Through high school, I played a ton of soccer. With my dad as my coach, I played year-round on school teams, all-star teams, indoor teams, and 3 summers in Europe. Admittedly, my skills were only average but I seemed to have a knack for scoring goals.

› At the University of Virginia, I wrestled for 3 of my 4 years and was an academic all-American. That being said, while I was awesome as a high-school wrestler, I found college level wrestling quite humbling!

› After college I moved to San Diego and fell in love with beach volleyball. I earned my AA-rating and got a chance to play at the AVP Open in Manhattan Beach.

› In 1992 I thought I wanted to be a mountain man and moved to Vail, Colorado. I snowboarded over 80 days that season and got into back country and heli-skiing.

› Realizing my true home was in Socal, I moved back to San Diego and found a passion for rock climbing, dedicating many years to the sport. The culmination was a 4-day ascent of a 3000’ cliff in Yosemite called “The Nose”.

› In 2006, I made the move to the Los Angeles area and currently enjoy obstacle racing and paddle surfing. I’ve competed in 10+ Spartan Obstacle races and typically rank in the top 1 percentile of all finishers. The paddle surfing is still a work in progress!

The theme in all my activities is being physical and competitive outdoors. If you are training for an outdoor event, I can help you reach your goals. Let’s get training!
